White Wine Parmesan Cream Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1/8 cup butter
  • 1/8 cup flour
  • 1/8 cup shallots minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup white wine riesling
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup half & half as needed for consistency
  • 6 oz parmesan grated
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  • Add shallots, stirring frequently for 2-3 minutes until shallots begin to become translucent.
  • Stir in flour to create a roux. Cook the roux for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add in chicken broth, stirring constantly.
  • Add in half & half slowly, stirring constantly.
  • Add in white wine slowly, stirring constantly.
  • Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add in parmesan and black pepper and stir until combined in the sauce.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick add more half & half. Serve hot.
