Pulled Pork Without the Smoker

No smoker, and no time to stand around and babysit a picnic shoulder all day? You’re in luck! This easy slow cooker pulled pork recipe is exactly what you need when you want to fulfill you’re craving for sweet and smokey fare!
Only fifteen minutes of preparation and you can set this in the slow cooker and forget about it for hours. If you have the time, slow and low is always best when cooking meat like this. But if you’re in more of a hurry you can set the slow cooker to high and have mouth-watering pulled pork ready in 6 hours.
All the ingredients impart their flavor to the pork while you go about your day. A rich umami flavors the pork from the chicken broth and Worcestershire, while the brown sugar, chili powder, and cinnamon balance that with a smokey sweetness that will have your friends and family begging for more!
It’s also versatile. Serve it on buns for sandwiches, or in tortillas for tacos or burritos. Alternatively, you could simply serve it over rice or mix it into a potato hash.

Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lb pork loin
- 1 each onion chopped 1 1/2" squares
- 2 each garlic cloves thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp dark brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Set cut onions and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add in chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pat dry pork loin.
- Mix together dry seasonings in a bowl.
- Rub seasoning all over the pork loin.
- Set the pork loin on top of the onion layer in the slow cooker.
- Cook on high for 6-7 hours or until fork tender. (Can also be cooked at low setting for 8-10 hours)
- When done, shred pork with two forks until all meat is shredded.
- Take any remaining juices left in the slow cooker and mix with your favorite BBQ sauce. Mix sauce into shredded pork, coating thoroughly.
